2012 started off with a bang! Kelly Lang's "I'm Done" video aired on TNN with amazing results, it was chosen for two weeks as the "pick of the week" and the video itself has garnered almost half a million hits on YouTube. It was so exciting to see it go so far. Todd Snider released "Time as We Know It" and he used several of my images from those sessions on the record. There was the cover for Vintage Guitar Magazine that I shot of the Kentucky Headhunters & Black Stone Cherry, talk about fun to see in print. And Lucero used some of my footage of them working in the studio for their pre-launch promo videos for their latest release "Women & Work". Of course the biggest news was the amazing opportunity to work with the ROCK & ROLL HALL OF FAME, where I spent two days down in Muscle Shoals Alabama with Holly George-Warren filming interviews with FAME Studios, Rick Hall and Spooner Oldham. It looks like there may be more work coming from the Hall of Fame for their Oral History Program and I am honored to be involved. I also had the privilege of shooting a cover photo and spread of Elizabeth Cook for the East Nashvillian and then got to work with Elizabeth again shooting the cover and album artwork photos for her upcoming release. I worked on video EPK with the super motorcycle mama Sasha Mullins, Shot the cover for Lower Broadway's famous Brazilbilly's new record, did a photo shoot for the sweet Rod Picott and made a video for my pal Peter Cooper. I even had the chance to shoot some photos for my old friends in the Parton family! (yes, those Parton's) I had a blast shooting a pilot for Johnny Solinger, the singer for the world famous Skid Row. It's a cooking show and it's not like anything on TV right now. It was sure fun to work with him. I hope it gets picked up soon so we can make more! I have videos coming for Hillbilly Vegas which should be launching around Fathers Day, Richie Owens and the Farm Bureau and the video EPK for Folk Soul Revival. So when I am not shooting, I will for sure be hunkered down in Final Cut land. Summer is looking like a hot one that is just fine by me. I feel like I'm on fire these days! |
